Do we have to sing karaoke?

No, you don't have to do karaoke! You can barhop or just ride around and look at beautiful Palm Springs. This is your party - we want it to be your idea of fun!

What's this I hear about a drag queen hosting the ride?

That's right! You can hire one of our fabulous, locally famous drag queens to host your ride, contributing commentary between songs as only a drag queen can! (When a drag queen is on the bike, there are only 12 seats available for passengers.)

Do we have to pedal?

Accepted Answer

Yes - it's a bike! Ten of the seats have pedals, and four of them do not, but the trolley has a motor to assist, which does a lot of the work.

How much does it cost?

The standard ride is 90 minutes long and costs $450, with a maximum of 13 people.If you don't want to buy all 13 seats, you can buy individual seats for $50 each, but there must be a total of eight seats sold in order for the ride to run. Payments for any ride that is cancelled because eight seats weren't sold will be refunded.

How many people can I bring?

The trolley holds up to 14 people. If you opt to have a drag queen host, the maximum is 12 people.

How many mics are available?

Accepted Answer

There are two mics for karaoke, but everyone can sing if you want. You don't really need microphones when everyone is singing - it's plenty loud!

Can we bring our own food and drinks?

Accepted Answer

Sure! Palm Springs can be very hot, and we encourage you to stay hydrated by bringing your own drinks. We will provide a cooler with ice and water. You can bring additional drinks. Palm Springs law prohibits alcohol on the bike, but we are happy to make as many stops at bars along the way if you want. If riders do have open alcohol containers, we will ask you to leave. You can also bring your own food, but keep in mind that you will be pedaling while you're on the bike - consider that when you choose what you bring.

Where does the bike go?

Tours start and end at the Forever Marilyn statue in the center of town on Museum Way. From there, we pedal around town, up and down the main streets and a lot of side streets. You can make specific requests for routes as long as they are within the range of the bike.

Are there age restrictions?

No, there aren't age restrictions, but a parent must sign a waiver for anyone under 18.

What are the hours the bike is available?

There are five time slots available each day. Each ride lasts 90 minutes:

Where do rides start and end?

Rides start and end either at the Forever Marilyn statue right in the center of Palm Springs on Museum Way, or at Hotel ZOSO, also right downtown. We might be able to pick you up or drop you off at another location if it is on our regular route.

Can we just go to bars?

Of course! This is your ride, and we're happy to customize it. If you want a traditional pub crawl, we can make it happen! Remember that bars will only allow you to enter if you have a valid ID showing that you are at least 21 years old.

What music is available?

We have over 91,000 karaoke songs available through the Karafun subscription service - used by many karaoke bars. All music must be appropriate for the general public.

Question 15

Can we bring tambourines and maracas?

Sorry, but you cannot bring any musical instruments or other soundmaking devices on The Mic Bike. Our permits strictly limit what we can use to generate our sound, and your voices are all you should bring!

What forms of payment do you take?

We take just about every credit card plus Apple Pay, Google Pay and Venmo.

What is the cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

Full rides for 14 people may be cancelled until two weeks before the scheduled date, subject to a 3% cancellation fee (that credit card companies charge us). After that, full rides may be rescheduled, but not cancelled. Per-seat rides may also be cancelled until two weeks before the scheduled date, subject to a 3% cancellation fee (that credit card companies charge us). After that, and until one week before the ride, per-seat rides may be rescheduled, but not refunded. Inside of a week, per-seat rides may not be refunded or rescheduled, as it affects other groups who may be scheduled on the same ride.

What happens if it rains?

Because The Mic Bike has a lot of electronic equipment on the bike, rain may require that we cancel the ride, but not always; rain in Palm Springs can be very light and may not require that we cancel the ride. We also have rain ponchos for you if it rains. If we do need to cancel, you will receive a full refund.

Do I have to wear a helmet?

You do not have to wear a helmet - we have a waiver that will allow you to ride without one. We do have helmets available if you want to wear one.
